Four Years of Innovation Deliver a Revolutionary New Era of Active Sim Racing Pedal Technology

After four years of meticulous research and development and over ten internal iterations, MOZA Racing is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking mBooster Active Pedal.

By successfully adapting automotive wire-controlled braking technology for sim racing, MOZA is poised to redefine the standard for sim racing pedal performance and immersion.

Core Technology:
From Automotive Innovation to Sim Racing Excellence

MOZA Racing’s core R&D team comprises industry veterans with experience at renowned companies such as Bosch, Nissan, and Mathworks, specialising in sensor fusion algorithms and high-precision motion control technologies. This expertise has been instrumental in MOZA’s development of cutting-edge automotive technologies.

The journey began in 2018 with the development of active suspension technology for road car applications. In 2021, MOZA showcased a prototype equipped with the “MOZA Digital Chassis” at the Shanghai Auto Show, demonstrating its commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering. As one of the few global suppliers of fully active suspension systems, MOZA has established close collaborations with numerous domestic and international automotive companies.

The “digital chassis,” a term prevalent in the automotive industry (also known as drive-by-wire chassis), encompasses key technologies such as active suspension (adaptive damping), steer-by-wire, and brake-by-wire systems.

MOZA’s active damping technology is applied in real-world vehicles, while its steer-by-wire technology is integrated into MOZA’s sim racing wheelbases. Now, MOZA is bringing its expertise in brake-by-wire technology to the world of sim racing with the mBooster active pedal.

mBooster Active Pedal:
Brake-by-Wire Technology for Unprecedented Realism

The MOZA mBooster active pedal system shares its technological foundation with industry-leading automotive solutions such as BOSCH’s iBooster and Brembo’s BBW (Brake by Wire). This electromechanical servo-assisted braking system replaces traditional hydraulic or mechanical linkages with electronic signals, enabling precise and responsive control.

The mBooster’s motorised control system allows for the simulation of diverse pedal feel profiles, delivering exceptionally realistic feedback. Combined with MOZA’s proprietary sensor fusion algorithm, which integrates pressure and angle sensors, the mBooster offers faster response times, enhanced precision, a lightweight design, and a compact form factor.

Compared to traditional mechanical pedal, the mBooster provides a more diverse and dynamic pedal feel, significantly enhancing the sim racing experience. When paired with MOZA’s drive-by-wire steering, which offers precise angle control and faster response times, the brake-by-wire system improves braking consistency, particularly during trail braking. This facilitates the development of muscle memory, leading to improved driving performance.

The MOZA mBooster active pedal bring advanced automotive technology to sim racing, unlocking limitless customisation of pedal feel through software tuning, eliminating the need for mechanical adjustments. This highly realistic dynamic feedback system is set to redefine the sim racing experience, offering unparalleled immersion and control.

Steer-by-Wire:
Precision Control and Immersive Feedback

MOZA’s racing simulator bases function as a force feedback simulator within a vehicle’s steer-by-wire system. MOZA’s proprietary steer-by-wire technology delivers ultra-realistic force feedback exceeding 20 Nm of torque. Equipped with high-resolution sensors and advanced precision control algorithms, it provides an exceptionally smooth and immersive driving feel. The steer-by-wire system dynamically adjusts the steering ratio, allowing for minimal wheel rotation at low speeds and refined, stable control at high speeds, enhancing precision and consistency.

MOZA’s Fully Active Suspension:
Enhancing Real-World Driving

MOZA’s innovations extend beyond sim racing. Its fully active suspension system, much like a gimbal for vehicles, ensures continuous stability and smooth operation. This advanced system integrates high-dynamic electro-hydraulic actuators, road condition sensing, and a dedicated control unit into an electro-hydraulic active suspension system. With multiple platform solutions developed, it is compatible with mainstream passenger vehicles ranging from 1.2 to 3.5 tons.

MOZA’s active suspension system features both integrated and decoupled actuator-damper configurations, making it highly adaptable for mass production. With thousands of calculations and real-time adjustments per second, the system effectively mitigates vibrations, delivering a remarkably smooth ride, even on rough terrain.

Unshakable Control at High Speeds

MOZA’s fully active suspension enhances vehicle stability during acceleration, braking, and cornering while optimising tyre grip. By actively managing the vehicle’s heave, pitch, and roll, it minimises road impacts on the chassis, reduces body roll, and stabilises wheel load fluctuations, delivering a significantly improved handling and driving experience.

Immersive In-Car Entertainment

MOZA’s active suspension system also enhances the in-car experience. While resting or waiting for an EV to charge, drivers can enjoy an interactive entertainment experience powered by MOZA’s technology. By dynamically synchronising the vehicle’s movements with on-screen action, the system transforms in-car entertainment into an immersive cinematic experience.
